Fantasmic Dining Experience
If you are planning to see Fantasmic at the end of your day at the Parks you may want to take advantage of the Fantasmic! Dining Experience. You are allowed to book the package up to 180 days in advance.
This package includes dinner at one of the participating Disney’ s Hollywood Studios restaurants and reserved seating in the Fantasmic! Amphitheater.
The amphitheater is set up so that are no bad views but if you have this package it means that instead of waiting in line for 60-90 minutes outside the theater, you can walk right up to the theater 30-45 minutes before show time, and still have a seat.
Currently the participating restaurants are Brown Derby, Mama Melrose, and Hollywood & Vine.
The package includes a fixed price dinner and the Fantasmic! seating pass. The booking must be guaranteed with a credit card, and a $10 cancellation fee applies if not cancelled at least 48 hours beforehand.
Prices currently (early 2008) are as follows
Brown Derby approx $47 adult/$12 children (3-9) The adult meal include appetizer, entree, dessert and non-specialty, non-alcoholic beverage. Children may order from a Children’ s Menu, and have a choice of soup or salad, entree, dessert and child’ s beverage.
At Mama Melrose you pay approx $33 adult/$12 children (3-9) Adult meal includes appetizer, entree, dessert and non-specialty, non-alcoholic beverage. Children again can order from Children’ s Menu, and have a choice of soup or salad, entree, dessert and child’ s beverage.
Hollywood & Vine is the cheapest of the three approx $25 adult/$12 children (3-9) Here there is an All you care to eat buffet. Choose from a number of selections including; oven-roasted Prime Rib, Citrus Baked Chicken, Pan-seared Salmon, and Stir-Fry Noodles with Sesame. Also includes fresh salads and build your own ice cream/dessert bar. Adults drinks are not included although children’s are.
You need to be at your restaurant 10 minutes before your reservation, and you will be given your special Fantasmic! Seating pass at this time.
The first time we went we ate at the Hollywood & Vine and were amazed at the variety of the food in the buffet. Their salmon and the club salad alone make the charge worth it. Be sure to try the sundae bar at the end of your meal, we did!
Last time we enjoyed a longish day at the park before going for an early dinner at Mama Melrose’ s which was excellent. We had ample time to enjoy a leisurely meal, and also plenty of time to go around the shops afterwards.
When you get to the stadium there is no waiting in line, you are waved through to the reserved section. I would recommend you get there about 45 minutes before the show. If you like getting wet sit at the front, we usually sit at the back get great views and then it is easier to avoid the crowds when you leave the stadium.
