Extras to be enjoyed in Orlando
What else can be enjoyed in Orlando apart from theme parks? The answer to that question is simply, so much.
Culture and Heritage. Apart from many museums and art galleries, there are often festivals such as the Florida Film Festival, the Florida Music Festival, the Orlando International Fringe and the Winter Park Bach Festival. Although these are seasonal, it is worth looking up on line what is on offer when you are planning your trip.
Dining and Nightlife. Dine with Disney characters and animated TV stars. Enjoy a diverse dinner show ranging from knights on horse back to medieval shows or marauding pirates to murder mystery shows. Night clubs galore at Universal Studios and some at Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney. Dining in restaurants for ordinary meals can start from as little as $10. 99 for an excellent steak dinner and go up as high as you like. A normal dinner for two at an average steak or fish restaurant will cost about $30 for two including a drink each.
Golf, sports and recreation. Admire the view from a hot air balloon or hang glider, spot alligators from an airboat or kayak, go on a simulated sky dive or tour Orlando on a Harley Davidson. You could saddle up for an eco-safari on horse back or zip along the tree tops on an exciting zipline. There are approximately 176 gold courses in the Orlando area so no excuse for not taking your clubs along. Many groups of golfers book villas just for golfing holidays, either in couples or in single sex groups. You could take a bicycle tour on the West Orange Trail or an airboat ride at the Boggy creek. A little further out in Sanford you can try scuba diving and snorkelling. The Kissimmee Swamp Tour shows you old Florida the way it used to be with no development, just wildlife.
Shopping. There are many great shopping Malls, the Mall at Millenia for very high end shopping, the Florida Mall for every day shopping but with some high end stores. The Premium Outlets Factory Malls at International Drive and Vinelands Road, Lake Buena Vista are for discounted factory shops with some very well known high end brands such as Dior, Chanel, Max Mara and Hugo Boss or more down to earth stores such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger and Banana Republic.
All of this and theme parks too. With all this to take in you will definitely need to come back again and again to enjoy all that Florida and in particular Orlando has to offer.
