Epcot Flower Festival
The Epcot Flower and Garden festival has already started and runsright through to may 15th.
Well what is it all about then? I will give you some of the highlights.
Running right througout the festival dates are the following
PIXIE HOLLOW FAIRY GARDEN this is aimed at the 5s and under and will enchant any little girl.
BAMBI' S BUTTERFLY HOUSE is whre you will see hundreds of native butterflies swooping through the amazing topiary.
Only on specified dates are the following:
THE DISNEY PIXAR WEEKEND TO CELEBRATE is focused on cars; especially Cars 2. Here you can take part in a scavenger hunt (always a favourite with my kids) This is a 2 day event from the 13th of may. Just right for half term.
TREAT FOR FLORIDA WEEKEND is from april 29th to may 1st and it is what it says on the can; a bounteous array of fresh Florida produce including honey.
ART IN THE GARDEN features crafts people demonstrating their skill and expertise through the mediums of pottery, glass and painting. All the while, a mural will be painted as a backdrop.
RAPUNZELS TOWER is a secret tower: I would like to tell you more (but it is a secret)
The hub of this special event is based in The Pavilion (this used to be The Wonders of Life) There are regular presentations here by designers and garden experts from my favourite T. V. channel, H. G. T. V.
You can also take a 3 hour guided tour where a Disney horticultural expert will take you round the gardens. A real treat for a garden lover. This tour costs $59 and be warned, this is in addition to your general admission price.
Book those for tuesday, thursday and fridays only and starts at 9. a. m. and concludes at noon. Leaves you lots of time to tour the rest of the festival, grab a few rides and end a full day out with the sensational fireworks. This would make a great gift for anyone interested in the topic; much better than flowers!
Disney never do things by halves and this festival is no exception. If you have Disney resident status then you can currently buy a 4 day pass for around $120 (just the ticket for these hard up times)
So if you were toying with the idea of a last minute break in Florida maybe this is just the incentive you need.
