Epcot Festival Welcome Center 2010
If you go to the 2010 Epcot Food and Wine Festival (you will need to pay Theme Park admission) be sure to pay a visit to the Festival Welcome Center which is situated in the former Wonders of Life Pavilion. It is open daily 9 am to 9 pm and has lots of activities.
My parents are keen to go the Culinary Demonstrations which I think cost under $20 per person. Here they can watch the professionals at forty five minute sessions. At each session there is featured chef and wine presenter giving lots of tips and you are even invited to taste the demonstrated dish and wine pairing. These take place daily at 1 pm 3 p. m. and 5 p. m.
They also plan to go to the Wine/ Beverage Seminars this is a 45-minute seminar where you meet the featured winery principal or beverage expert get lots of advice and best of all sample the selected wines/beverages! Timing for these is 12 noon, 2 p. m. , 4 p. m. , 6 p. m each day.
At “Authors without Borders” you can listen to renowned authors from the food and wine industries speak about popular topics in sessions lasting 30 minutes. These sessions are only on Fridays and Sundays at 12. 15 p. m. and 4 pm.
Again only on Fridays and Sundays Authentic Taste Seminars take place at 2pm and 4 pm. Each of these 30-minute seminars shows the origins, properties, and history of pure ingredients.
At “Bottle Signings” you can meet the winemaker and have your purchased bottle of wine autographed. You will need to check the daily schedules for topics and presenters or otherwise visit the Festival Information Desk.
There are also “Book Signings and Meet & Greets” this is a great chance to chat with a celebrated author. Make sure you have your purchased book/merchandise autographed. Again the daily schedules or Information Desk will have a list of the featured authors.
My parents also plan to go to see “Seasons of the Vine” which runs continuously all day. It is a seven minute behind the scenes introduction to wine growing narrated by Jeremy Irons.
No visit to the Welcome Center would be complete without a visit to the Stockpot Shop. Here you can buy commemorative items such as the event poster, Festival cookbook as well as great selection of cooking and entertaining products.
Finally before leaving the Welcome Center or at the end of your evening go to Intermissions Cafe where you can get wine, cheese, and light snacks. There are so many wines here including Pinot Grigio, Benziger Family Sauvignon Blanc, Maison Louis Jadot Chardonnay, Maison Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages and many many more.
Enjoy your visit to the Festival Welcome Center my parents intend to.
