Entertainment at the Boardwalk
As our girls have become teenagers we find we spend more and more time at the Boardwalk whether it be in the day or evening.
Entertainment here can differ from day to day. At holiday times you will find midway games, jugglers, entertainers, hand wax molds, food vendors as well as magic shows. At night the night clubs and restaurants come to life.
If any of your family like water activities there are plenty here. Go to Bayside Marina which is situated just outside Disney' s Yacht Club Resort and is open from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m. daily. Here you can rent water mice, pontoon boats, and other water craft. It is also the place to arrange Illuminations Cruises, fishing excursions or other specialty cruises. You can find details of all the specialty cruises on the internet.
There are several different types of fishing excursions departing from the Bayside Marina. Guided Bass Fish Excursion is a two-hour trip, 5 guests maximum. The Kid Fishing Around the World trip is a one-hour trip where children 6 to 12 years old are eligible.
The younger ones can go on an Albatross Treasure Cruise which is for children aged 4 to 10 years old. They will wear bandannas as they follow clues and sail to many exotic ' ports of call' around Crescent Lake and Epcot looking for treasure. At the final port of call, children will have lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cookie, and juice box, and will split up the ' buried treasure. ' This cruise takes place every Wednesdays 9:30 - 11:30 a. m. The price of the cruise is around $30 and reservations are strongly recommended. The girls are too old for this now but loved it when they were younger.
Next time we go we plan to go on the Canopy Boats. These are motorized boats, accommodating about 8 adults. You can hire them by the half hour but I am not sure what the charges are. There are also bigger Pontoon boats which I believe accommodate 10.
At Cabana Beach Club situated just outside Walt Disney World Dolphin you can rent pedal boats and hydrobikes.
On Thursdays to Saturdays you can see the Boardwalk Buskers who are an assortment of live entertainers who perform outdoors from 6:30 –to 10:30 p. m. There are sword swallowers and jugglers as well as magicians and strolling musicians.
The girls love finishing their evening at Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf. This is 18 hole whimsical miniature golf for the whole family, with a dancing hippo and xylophone stairs! I believe it is open until 11. 00pm.
SPN Club has100 screens, there are even TVs in the bathrooms. Here you can watch all the latest sporting events. The menu provides sandwiches, burgers and fries and a variety of salads.
If you are looking for a disco Atlantic Dance is open five nights a week. Tuesday to Saturday and there is a DJ Dance Party with open requests. It is open 9 p. m. to 2 a. m. but you must be over 21 years old.
For a sing along go to Jellyrolls which is a sing-along bar, with dueling piano players who take requests. Open from 7 p. m. to 2 a. m.
This is just some of the entertainment on offer at the Boardwalk I am sure you will enjoy your visit.
