Enjoying Seaworld
Seaworld Orlando is located at the intersection of Interstate 4 and FL 528 (the Bee Line Expressway) and is just 10 minutes south of downtown Orlando and 15 minutes from Orlando International Airport. It is open all year-round from 9 a. m. to 7:00 p. m. , with extended hours during summer and holidays. My parents were over there the week before Christmas and the Park was open until 11. 00pm with special Christmas shows, they enjoyed it more than any of the other parks.
There are several types of tickets amongst the most popular is the single day entry with a second days entry within seven days free. You just need to go to the windows on the left of the turnstiles as you enter I suggest you do this on your way in as there can be quite long queues late in the day.
I am not sure if they are doing it this year but in previous years mid way through the year you have been able to get a Funcard which is slightly more expensive than a one day entry but it allows you unlimited access throughout the year. My parents who stay at the villa at least twice a year have two year passes with which they also get free car parking as well as discount on food and drinks.
Seaworld is the world' s premier marine adventure park and has 200 acres of shows, rides and great animal encounters. If you want to do all the shows and attractions you really need to be there for a full day. Maps are available at the entrance and these have the various show times on them.
However there are many activities you can take part in beside the shows and rides most of which are pre-bookable. I am listing just a few that I know about below but I am sure there are more.
If you want to be a “Trainer for the Day” you can join a party of six guests for the day and you shadow killer whale, dolphin and sea lion trainers to learn training techniques.
On the False Killer Whale Interaction program you will come face-to-face and interact with massive false killer whales and help with animal training sessions with Seaworld trainers.
In the Animal Care Experience guests can bottle feed orphaned manatees.
At Sharks Deep Dive guests put on Seaworld wetsuits and either snorkel or scuba dive in a shark cage.
You can also book sleepovers. Our girls always wish they lived in Florida because they think it would be the best birthday present ever to have a sleepover with their friends at Seaworld!
