EATING OUT – MID PRICE RANGE
OK, so perhaps you’re bored with all the usual eating places and want to try something different for a change?
Applebees – There’s one on the 192 near Sam’s Club. As well as being a sports restaurant, this has some unusual food to try. Like the grilled shrimp ' n’ spinach salad – it might not sound too exciting but, believe me, it’s absolutely delicious!
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store – On the 192. Old time American store with rocking chairs outside and a restaurant serving old time American food. Here you’ll find those very American favourites, biscuits, gravy and grits but try the steak, steak fries and okra, just wonderful.
Friendly’s – on the 192 at Osceola Square Mall. Great menu. Try the steak tips over rice with green peppers and Portobello mushrooms. Friendly’s is also the home of a wonderful ice cream shop and their ice cream sundaes are incredible – so many different options for you to make your own favourite. Also ice cream cakes for anyone celebrating an occasion but remember to book in advance for this.
Smokey Bones Bar and Charcoal Grill – Great BBQ restaurant that’s also a sports bar so, if you’re into sports and eating, this could be the place for you! Located just off the 192 on Vineland Road. If the menu says there’s a buffalo alternative, watch out because it’s not buffalo sauce, it’s real buffalo!
Olive Garden – various locations. If you like Italian food, you’re bound to like this! Lots of choices from pasta to fish and seafood.
Mimi’s Café – at the Mall of Millennia. From salads to ribs and from quiche to seafood fettuccine, the whole menu is delicious and the restaurant is beautifully themed.
Cheesecake Factory – at the Mall of Millennia. Surprisingly, not just cheesecake but a whole heap more. . . Could this be the world’s most comprehensive menu? Try it out for yourself and decide…. What we do know is that most people can’t manage one of the famous cheesecakes at the end of their meal – never mind, ask for a doggy bag and take one home! One thing about this restaurant is that it’s hugely popular so be prepared for a wait for a table.
Manny’s Original Chophouse – on the 27 at Haines City. Specialising in steak and chops, this is another hugely popular restaurant which might include a wait for a table but I think you’ll find the wait could be worthwhile.
