Eating at Epcot (6)

For dinner in The World Showcase, your world is your oyster. Each one of the “countries” represented has their own restaurant which serves high quality meals. You will need to book these at the start of the day or you will probably not get a table for lunch or dinner.

For light lunch, most of the “countries” also have separate cafes which sell light snacks, like the Boulangerie Patisserie - French, for pastries, sandwiches and quiches: Le Cantina San Angel – Mexican, which serve nachos, tacos and burritos, Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe – Norway, for open sandwiches, Liberty Inn – American, for hot-dogs, burgers and salads. The Lotus Blossom Café – Chinese or for some good old English fare there is the Rose and Crown Pub which serves Fish and Chips. In Sommerfest you can try German sausages and bratwurst or how about sampling some North African fare such as moroccon lamb and couscous the Tangierine Café. These cafes do not have to be booked.

Apart from these, you are basically looking at fast food outlets, selling much the same thing in all of them. In Epcot there is “The Land Pavillion”, which houses are few different types of food all based around a circle of tables so each member of the family can select their own choice and meet up to eat together. The things on offer there are light snacks such as sandwiches, salads, pastas plus fruit, cakes and ice creams. Nearer the entrance is the Electric Umbrella which serves more substantial dishes of chicken, wraps or salads. On the whole, the World Showcase offers a much better choice of food for dinner or light bites.

For snacks during the day, there is pop-corn sold all around the park at various stands. There are ice creams and even a Soda Fountain which sells more substantial Edy’s ice creams and thick milk shakes. Some of the more outlandish snacks are to be had in the World Showcase in Liberty Square, USA: you have to try a turkey leg, it is huge!

So do give them a try and have a happy trip.
