Eastern Billards a Fantastic Shop!
As I sit here sipping my Chardonnay on a surprisingly sunny afternoon (it is 5:15pm so it’s ok for wine! ) I thought I would tell you about this great shop I found in Florida, Eastern Billiards is on South Orange Blossom Trail.
We arrived there about 10:30am and found to our horror that they didn’t open till 11am that day, aaargghhh!!
Just as we were about to turn around and head for the Florida Mall instead a lady screamed at us “don’t go away, I’ll let you in” – turns out she and her husband are the owners. We went straight in and were amazed by what we saw! Whilst trying to take it all in the first thing the lady does is offer us coffee; how often does that happen in a UK shop – answer: never! The whole store is devoted to pool tables, bar stools, high tables, fooseball (table football to us normal speaking UK people), a few juke boxes, pool tables lights, and dart boards – in fact everything you could possibly want to equip a games room with. Which was lucky because that’s exactly the reason we had came to this store after scouring the internet.
The bar stools caught my eye; they weren’t just plain boring one’s but had motif’s and vivid colours, also the quality of them was high; didn’t feel like cheap Wal-Mart products (nothings against Wal-Mart! ). There is simply nothing like it in the UK and before I could decide on what we wanted I had to ask “do you ship to the UK? ” the answer was no, but I detected that if you spend enough they would though the shipping costs would probably cripple you! ?
I love this shop just so much! The table pool lights are gorgeous and admittedly have a price tag too match. This isn’t a cheap shop this is quality. Although we only bought a fooseball table and a relatively cheap high table once our old (cheap! – Wal-Mart again! ) pool table is dead I know exactly where we shall be shopping. Both the owners were quite a couple and had a lot of banter amongst themselves. It all felt rather cosy and they were more than happy to show us round the shop and even into the warehouse which I thought was bigger than Wal-Mart (must stop mentioning Wal-Mart! ).
A fantastic shop – even if you don’t intend to buy (though you will once you have visited! ) take a look, it’s worth it for the great range they have and also the really great service they offer.
