Do you have to be a child to enjoy Orlando? Absolutely not. There other theme parks to enjoy as well as some other exciting activities for grown ups looking for something different.
There is the Kennedy Space Centre. This is a wonderfully educational experience if you have even just the slightest interest in space travel. If you are really lucky, you may be taking your holiday when there is a launch taking place. All you need to do is check on line at the Kennedy Space Centre and check when their next launch is to take place. Then just drive to the Centre and find a place to park near the site and you will see and hear the launch without having to pay or queue up for hours to get into the space centre itself. It is truly magical and awe inspiring, it always brings a lump to my throat and I have seen lots now.
Sea World is another attraction that is just as good for adults as it is for children, not only is there so much to learn and see, there are some wonderful shows to watch. They also now have two roller coasters for the very brave (or very foolish). Then there is their newly opened water park, Aquatica. Here you can use a slide which is surrounded by dolphins, join a more fast pace Lazy River or try all their water slides out for size.
Another attraction worth a mention is the Alligator Park. See them in their natural habitat, being fed and even see Indians wrestling with them. There are also many areas where you can just wander, quite safely and watch the alligators and many species of birds interact in their natural environment.
When you are done with the parks there are any number of other things to do and see. For example, just stroll through Downtown Disney and do some shopping, or play miniature golf on the numerous novelty golf courses. An airboat ride is en experience not to be missed as is a helicopter or hot air balloon ride. A visit to Old Town, Kissimmee is worth doing on a Saturday night if you like vintage American cars in all their chrome sparkling glory. They have a parade of them by their owners every Saturday night.
While you are there you will want to do some shopping, as the prices are so much lower than here in the UK. We always do all our Christmas Shopping there. However, do remember your weight allowances for the flight home and do not get too carried away.
Don’t forget, you are only an hours drive from the nearest beach, so you can still have a lazy holiday in the sun all year round.
So you can see that Orlando is not just for children, adults can have a great holiday there too.
