Do you have to be a child to enjoy Orlando Part 1
Do you have to be a child to enjoy Orlando? Absolutely not. You do not even have to be a child to enjoy Disney World and all it’s parks. First, let me dispel some of the myths about Disney World. It is not Alton Towers only Bigger – not by a long way!
There are many rides and shows in Disney World that obviously are just for children, for example, the Dumbo Flying Elephant Ride, the Snow White Ride, the Winnie the Pooh Enchanted Forest and It’s a Small World Ride. However, most adults love Space Mountain, The Pirates of the Carribbean, The Carousel of Progress, The Haunted Mansion and The Runaway Train to name but a few.
My husband and I have been going to Disney World since our daughter was 3 years old and we are still going now that she is grown up, 34 years of age and expecting her own baby. We are villa owners now, so we travel to Orlando at least twice a year and we still love Disney.
We still love to watch the Electric parade at night in the Magic Kingdom, does that make us “sad old gits”, not at all, it just means know how to let down the barriers and enjoy the hidden child in us both. We have taken lots of our adult friends who have loved every minute of it, one even said, “It’s a shame there are so many children cluttering up the place” (said very tongue in cheek, I hasten to add).
At Epcot there are so many things for adults, apart from all the culture in the World Showcase, all the rides are educational and teach us oldies a lot about modern technology.
If you like and are interested in animals then there is so much to learn at the Animal Kingdom plus some hair-raising rides to keep the thrill seekers amused.
The Disney MGM studios is also a great place to spend the day. You can “Ride the Movies” and remember old favourites and become part of the action and I would defy any one to say that the Aerosmith ride or the Tower of Terror is for children – they are so scary I don’t know anyone who has been on them, certainly not me! If you go at Christmas time then the Osbourne Lights are an amazing spectacle at Disney MGM as is the night time Lazor Spectacular all year round.
So don’t ewait to have kids or borrow some elses – just go for it, you will love it.
