Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Courses

If you love Christmas, then you’ll love these two crazy golf courses!

Set close to the snow themed Blizzard Beach Water Park, Disney has designed these two courses to be great fun. They are the newest courses from Disney and we find them to be a little easier than the Fantasia course. Children - of all ages - will love to try their golfing skills!

There are two courses - The winter course is set in the frosty snow where Santa lives, whilst the summer course is pure Florida. A place where Santa’s spends his off-season break! There are surf boards and sandcastles – all obstacles for players to get pleasure from.

In the main area where you pay and collect your putting equipment, all the buildings are ‘covered’ in snow, decorated with pretty colourful fairy lights and Christmas wreaths. There is a huge sleigh for kids to sit in and provide a photo opportunity. You pay at Santa’s ‘winterbago’, his trailer. Here you can also find small snacks and a small selection of gifts for purchase.

As you start the course, each hole has a rhyme and clue to glance at before attempting the hole – worthwhile taking the time to read if you wish to beat your fellow competitors!

For example, on the winter course, hole number one is of a trailer and titled “There’s no place like Gnome”.

Those who read the rhyme in our group got a hole in one. Great start! ! Those who did not take the time to pause and study learnt that these clues were worth reading!

During your travels around the course you find igloos where someone has been (guess who? ), fishing, ski sticks stuck in hills of snow and ski marks where someone has been dangerously skiing close to a pole – but you’ll not find Santa! You’ll see the Snow Queen’s Castle – an easy hole, if you hit it just right or miss, and you will find it quite tricky. You will meet Frosty the cheeky snowman. He will squirt you with water but you will never be sure quite when!

Towards the end you’ll enter a house and play amongst the large candy – this looks easy but it was not for our group! And then you will see Santa – well the bottom half hanging from a chimney - challenging you to hit the ball under his feet, until his enormous black boots get in the way!

If you look closely at the mantle piece you will see no ordinary stockings hanging…. In true Disney fashion they are webbed duck feet stockings! !

As you finish the course on hole 18 the ball’s disappear. However, Santa is never too far away. In 21st century style he appears on the screen via the internet to give you a cheerful message. … and many of you will leave humming Christmas songs in the warm Orlando sunshine in the middle of summer!

Pleasurable entertainment for all the family – and a great place to spend time if you’ve checked out of your villa and are waiting for a late afternoon/evening flight.

Opening times: 10am to 11pm, 7 days a week (may change due to the weather).

Costs: US$9. 76 plus tax (adult) and US$7. 78 plus tax (child aged 3 - 9) for either course. For a 50% discount you can play a second round (they may allow you to do this the next day if you play late in the date). If you play a second round you will need to provide your receipt.
