Disney's Magic Kingdom
The Theme Park where all your dreams come true.
Magic Kingdom, a very special place for all the family, as soon as you enter the park you will see smiling faces from the very young to the very old.
Once you arrive you have the choice of catching the monorail or as we found the only way to arrive at Magic Kingdom is by ferryboat across Lake Buena Vista.
Once you arrive the magic starts as you enter the main square where you will find all your favorite Disney characters at set times during the day. It’s an autograph collectors paradise as you run from one character to the next.
As you look and head down Main Street, in the distance standing out in all its glory is Cinderella’s Castle the main focal of the park, here you can dine with all your favorite Disney Princesses, Cinderella, Snow White & Princess Aurora. You do have to book so get in there early as this is probably the most popular out of all the Character dining’s.
Along with Main Street where you will find souvenir shops, Ice Cream Parlors and many other Disney things, Magic Kingdom is split up various areas of interest to keep everybody happy, Frontierland where you will come across rides like Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Fantasyland where you can take a ride with Peter Pan. Why not jump on a carpet and fly with Aladdin or you may want a swashbuckerling adventure on Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland. Watch out for Jack Sparrow.
Down at Tomorrowland you may want to take a trip to Space Mountain or do a bit of driving at the Indy Circuit, or you may just want to head for Mickey and Minnie’s place at Mickey's Toontown Fair. So much to do and not enough hours in the day to fit it all in, so be prepared for a couple of trips to Magic Kingdom.
As well as thrills and rides you can catch a few live shows, which are on at various times of the day. (Check your park map for times) One of our favorites is Belle’s Story Time, get there early as you will need a good seat, and be prepared to take part. Go under the sea as you visit Ariel’s Grotto where you can find play areas and fountains. Entertainment at its Disney best and don’t forget your autograph books.
There are plenty of diners scattered around Magic Kingdom, where you can grab a burger or some starlight chicken. You may just fancy a sit down meal, so why not head off to El Pirata Y El Perico Restaurant at Pirates of the Caribbean, or many of the other excellent diners dotted around.
If you fancy a train ride why not take the Walt Disney World Railroad, a 20-minute ride that will take you around the park and stops off at various points along your journey.
Every day Disney host the Disney Dreams Come True Parade, catch your favorite characters as they pass before your very eyes, or you may want to stay until Magic Kingdom presents its night time show, Wishes, a firework and pyrotechnic spectacular.
There is so much to do at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, far too much to mention here, so why not head for Disney’s premier Theme Park for that very special day out.
