Disney Mini Golf
Done the parks? Been shopping? Visited Kennedy?
Don't worry there is still plenty to do and if you want to have some good clean fun, why not try a game of Mini Golf.
There are a large number of courses in the Orlando / Disney area to choose from and they are all very imaginative.
A family favourite is the Disney Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Courses which are found by the entrance to Blizzard Beach. There are 2 courses to be played - not surprisingly one has a Summer feel with surf and beaches, while the other is set in Winter with snow and ice and - of course - Santa himself.
Some of the holes here are quite testing but none are too hard and all are great fun. There are nice interactive touches as well - watch out for a water squirting snowman and a snoring Santa. Also your timing needs to be good for a hole in 1 on some of the holes as you will find little extras to be avoided, like a toy train going round a Christmas Tree.
On these courses in particular it is worth making sure that you record your scores - particularly those hole in 1's, and show your card when you've finished, as they often have lucky holes where the kid's win a small reward if you do get down in 1 on them.
It's a good idea to set a couple of hours aside and if possible play both courses, as you will pay a reduced rate for playing the second course on the same day - if you are up to it then you can also play another Disney course at a reduced rate.
Another good course is the Disney's Fantasia Gardens - here you will find two very different courses to play.
Fantasia Gardens is similar in style to Winter Summerland with imaginative design & interactive features such as a tune playing when you hole out or a drawbridge to negotiate. This course has some tougher holes and you should watch out when there is water about as it is possible to lose your ball (if so take a little walk down to the central catchment area and you should be able to fish out another ball if you're careful, and no-one seems to mind).
The second course here is Fantasia Fairways which is set up like a small scale golf course with rough, bunkers and water hazards, all to be negotiated with the aid of your putter. It's good fun but younger children may not enjoy it as much without the fun elements of the other courses.
