Discovery Cove part 1
Here is our review of Discovery Cove June 2007
Our villa is on highway 27 so the first task was to actually navigate our way there. Who needs GPS when you have me with a map. Ok, actually, we need GPS! ; -)
Straight onto highway 27, east onto I4, leave a junction 71, stay in right hand lane, then just past Sea world on the right. It was easy to find and also there was plenty of parking so no problem! The actual entrance and location seemed beautiful with lots of plants shrubs making for a very tropical feel. We felt like we were going to be looked after as soon as we walked through the door. At the main desk you must give your party name and also show some form of photo id. Once all the basics have been done you are allocated your dolphin swim time, then told what else happens in the park and where the lockers, restaurants, restrooms etc. are all located.
After this you are made to have your photo taken, this doubles as your pass to Discovery Cove and also Sea world; which of course is included usually in your package for Discovery Cove. Swiftly onto the next desk to collect your photo passes and maps.
Now onto the actual park itself. Once more you are treated to beautiful gardens where the complimentary photo is taken – I did try and smile honest! You are then greeted by staff who point out all the locations you will need to be in for your day and also where to collect your wet suits from.
We promptly decide to get our wet suits first. Also grabbing goggles, snorkels, special “animal friendly” sun lotion, carry bag (to save dropping/losing it all), towels, face tissues (for the wife not me! ! ). As expected we were hungry by now even though we hadn’t actually done anything! . Luckily as part of the all inclusive nature of the park breakfast is served between 9am and 10. 30am. A simple but adequate breakfast was before us, consisting of pastries, muffins, croissants, yogurt, fruit, tea, coffer, juice, soft drinks and of course jam! . Lunch (which we sample later, be decided to check out the menu) was served 11am until 3pm and had a good selection of meals including; grilled chicken, salmon, hotdog, jamcelaya (erm, can’t spell! ), beef burgers, chicken strips & corn, mixed vegetables, lobster salad and the unforgettable salad.
