Dining in the Disney Area
We have many favourite dining spots when we are visiting “Mickey” and are happy to share them. This is a list of our very favorites!
The Cracker Barrel that recently opened on Highway 192 (near Formosa Gardens/Splendid China) is a great place for breakfast. They have a wide variety of food choices from steak and eggs to every kind of pancake imaginable. Their breakfast items are available throughout the day. (Even at dinnertime!) They are very reasonably priced and extremely “family friendly”. There is also a great country store to look through for terrific souvenirs and gifts! This is a wonderful resource if you happen to be put on a wait list. (This IS a very popular breakfast spot! :)
If you enjoy pizza, Giordano’s (also at the 192/Formosa Gardens plaza) has unbelievable deep-dish, Chicago style pizza! You better bring your appetite and have a love for cheese. No one will leave hungry! This is also a great carry out to take back to the villa, and they do deliver!
For a fine-dining experience we highly recommend Charley’s Steakhouse. It is located at 192 on just over I4. It is located on the left heading east on 192. The address is 2901 Parkway Blvd. It is across from Celebration. They have the most wonderful steaks we have ever had the pleasure of eating, to say nothing about a chocolate cake “to die for” ? Reservations are recommended. (407-396-6055)
Bahama Breeze is a wonderful place for the entire family. You can dine outside on the deck around a small fire pit while enjoying delightful Jamaican style music. Full restaurant seating is available inside as well. The food is delightful, the atmosphere very pleasant and the experience a lot of fun. Their address is 8735 Vineland. The restaurant is located right off the I4 Buena Vista exit. (Tel. 407-938-9010)
For dining on Disney property, we found the Crystal Palace to be a terrific dining spot! You should call ahead for “priority seating”. They do not do reservations, however, priority seating seems to be the same thing in my opinion. You dine with the Pooh characters. It is a buffet style dinner offering a wide variety of entrees with all the “extras”. The food is absolutely wonderful and a lot of fun for the kids! We actually took our 4 teen boys there for dinner in April and they really enjoyed it (believe it or not!!)
