Dine out at Red Lobster
There are many restaurants and eateries to choose from in the Orlando area. One name that you will see in may different areas is Red Lobster – which is one of our favourites.
If you are out exploring other areas of Orlando you are sure to see a Red Lobster – but in the Disney area there are two Red Lobsters on the Highway 192, making it a good stop off on your way home from the Disney Parks.
I love seafood and would happily eat every night in a seafood restaurant! My husband, however, hates it – and yet loves Red Lobster! They have other choices on the menu apart from fish – which is nice for those members of your party who don’t care for seafood.
When you arrive you are greeted at the door and if there is no table immediately available you can wander across to the bar area and have a drink whilst you wait for your table.
We have never had to wait for longer than 20 minutes, and it is nice to take the time to have a leisurely drink at the end of a tiring day at the Parks!
When your table is ready you will be escorted to it and introduced to your server. You can order more drinks whilst you peruse the menu. You may have noticed when you arrived that there is a glass tank containing live lobsters – if you are so inclined you can choose your lobster! Otherwise, there are lots of other very tasty choices.
When you have placed you order your server will bring your hot biscuits to the table. For Brits, these are not what we know as biscuits – but better described as scones. These are gorgeous – cheese flavoured – but tempting though they are, remember to leave room for the rest of your meal! If you can’t eat them there and then, remember that in Florida it is perfectly normal to ask for a ‘doggy bag’ to take the food home for later!
As with other restaurants and diners in Florida, the main course comes with a salad which is usually served before the main course arrives, making it more like a starter course.
My favourite main course dish is shrimps with pasta – but there are many other choices. We have vegetarian family members and the restaurant will always do pasta without the fish or meat.
Of course there is always desert to consider – and if you are still full from the cheese biscuits, why not ask for extra spoons and share!
Enjoy!
