A different day out
On our last trip we decided that we would like to spend a day doing something other then the Theme Parks. Don't get me wrong, all the parks in Orlando are truly amazing, but on this particular day we fancied something different.
So with plenty of things to choose from we settled on the following itinery;
1. A nice leisurely breakfast at Denny's
2. A Drive up to Mall and Millennia
3. A nice gentle round of mini golf
4. A family meal
So we set off late in the morning, arrived at Denny's and enjoyed a very delicious brunch of French Toast, Eggs, Bacon Hash Browns and Orange Juice. We easily spent a good hour and a half there and we received excellent service as usual. Next Stop - Mall at Millennia. Now I am not lucky enough to be able to shop at every store in the Mall. I tend to stick to the Sports Shop, Bath and Body Works, and the larger stores on the retail park surrounding the Mall. However, if you have not been to Mall at Millennia then you simply MUST go! It is a very beautiful building, and even though you may damage your credit card while you are there, it is a great place to people watch. After a few hours and a lighter purse we headed onto our next stop, Mini Golf. Now as no one in my family is a golfing pro, Mini Golf is about the right level for us. We returned to International Drive and headed straight for Pirates Cove as this has always been our favorite place to play. 36 Holes and a LOT of laughter later we decided enough golfing for one day. There are only so many times that you want to keep fishing golf balls out of ponds in one day! If you want to play mini golf - then go to Pirates Cove - it is amazing and so much fun for the whole family.
So the final thing on our list was the family meal. Having spent most of the day discussing where we should eat (Race Rock, Houlihans, Bahama Breeze and Golden Coral were all in the running) we decided to eat at Fuddruckers. Well, there is not much I can say really. Except that Fuddruckers is by far and away the BEST place to go for a Burger in Orlando. My dear husband had the 1lb burger and manager to eat it quite easily. I opted for the more modest 1/3lb burger and struggled with that! The restaurant was wonderful and had a great atmosphere. You must try it next time you are there.
So, although my day was not spent on high adrenaline rides, I think that this day was perhaps one of my favorite days of my holiday! We went and did different things and ate at another new restaurant, but most importantly, we all spent time together as a family!
