Diary of a homeowners vacation - 13
Well I woke up Tuesday morning and decided to stay around the villa and try to relax which I find quite difficult to do as I get bored easily. After a light breakfast, I decided to lie by the pool as it was glorious again.
It was so hot I decided in the pool we go. We rarely have the pool heat on, maybe only Dec-Mar so I wondered if it would be comfortable, well it was lovely, only 83 but refreshing from the 91 it was in the shade the day before. As I was lounging around in the pool with only 2 days left I made the decision that I would probably like to stay an extra week but had to think about the logistics and of course wanted to run it past the better half.
The rest of the afternoon was just spent reading and sunbathing by the pool.
Tuesday evening at this stage was to be my penultimate night and my friend and neighbour had suggested we go out for dinner. We decided on a Thai and I volunteered to drive.
I was all organised that evening and then suddenly remembered at 615pm that the car was still full of the shopping from the day before and I would have to empty it as I could not have all the stuff in it when we went out so I spent 15 minutes lugging all the kit out and upstairs. On the final trip I had too much to carry and was struggling and when I got upstairs I noticed I never had the car keys in my hand and presumed they were still in the garage…………
25 minutes later I am showered and dressed and 5 minutes from leaving, so off I trundle to the garage to set off. . . no keys. . . oh bother! Big house to lose a set of keys in, tons of shopping and in unorganised mode keys could be anywhere…uugh!
As I had spring cleaned everywhere except the master bedroom I thought that is where they have to be as everything was in its place downstairs and in the other rooms. So began the hunt for the keys with 5 mins to spare, right I’ll phone my friend and let her know I will be running a bit later, which I was not chuffed about doing as we had a reservation at 1930 up by SeaWorld. No reply, frantic hunt for keys, phone again, silly message about her number being disconnected…. . aaagh, tried again got the answer machine, still no keys and then it dawned on me they would have slipped from my fingers into a bag whilst I was carrying the last lot of shopping upstairs when I was really struggling to carry it all.
Sounds easy but with about 40 bags full of shopping which bag? Luckily a couple of minutes later I found them in one of the carrier bags and got myself round to pick up my friend, it was only 8 minutes late but I was all hot and bothered and she had decided to wait outside, hence the no reply!
Still at last we were onn our way!
