Diary of a homeowners vacation - 11
Monday 08 October (Columbus Day)
Woke up as normal routine and decided it was time for another shopping trip. I had actually forgotten it was the Columbus Day weekend and some bargains would be waiting for me!
I decided on the short trip over to the 192 as I wanted to go to a certain store so I left the house around 11.
The Columbus Day holiday tends to be celebrated more up in New York and the likes but I was surprised to find out the kids were not off school in our neck of the woods and infact Florida wide.
I had not eaten breakfast so decided to treat myself to some food before the spree began as it was a family anniversary today so thought I would have a wee celebration, so I toddled off to Bob Evans for lunch but ended up having my first hot breakfast since arriving 10 days before but just a small one with a couple of pancakes but being good I only ate 1! I of course had to have my banana bread so bought a loaf to take away for a later treat!
Fed and watered and ready for the onslaught I headed to Joanne’s (Huge craft store) as I wanted to pick up some bits and pieces and of course they had some good deals on some of the things because of the holiday so I was in there for about 3 hours. I have a Singer machine back home but looking for one to use in the US, needless to say I came out with everything but the sewing machine as I want to do a bit more research. The receipt was so long I was almost embarrassed!
Next it was off to Marshalls for a bit of Xmas shopping, I ended up buying more stuff for myself (not the plan), some stocking fillers and some kitchen and knick knacks for the villa.
Around 2 hours later I was off to Super Target, it was now around 1800 so last shop for today, goodness I had not even managed to get out of the one strip plaza today.
After a couple of hours in Super Target, where I got some nice things in the garden centre I hit the store and picked up some more Xmas pressies in the electronics dept and they also have a lot of nice knick knacks to, also remembered I also had to so some grocery shopping and oh I was starving again after my marathon shop so I headed off to the tills via the deli and picked up some on the go grub and ended up scoffing it at each traffic light I had to stop at as by this time it was after 2000 and I just couldn’t wait.
I got back home and was too tired to unpack the car as it was full to the brim again: trunk, back seats and passenger seat! I just about managed to get the groceries into the fridge and spent the rest of the evening watching TV and resting my weary legs.
