Daytona International Speedway
The Daytona International Speedway is a must see attraction for all motor-sports fans out there. The complete set-up is absolutely breathtaking!
Looking down the Front Straight taking in the huge Grandstand that runs the full length almost of the straight just shows why this is one of the best raceways in the world.
There are several activities to take participate in at the raceway including, interactive games and a quiz.
A Pit-Stop challenge for those of you that think they've got what it takes to be a mechanic! (Trust me it is not as easy and as simple as it looks as our son found out).
There is also a museum / gallery showcasing not only Nascar but also the other forms of motor-sport that take place at Daytona such as motor bikes / go-karting and endurance racing.
Then there is also the famous "Track Tour" (weather permitting). Here you are taken to different various sections of the track / pit-lane and winners enclosure to see the set-up and what it looks like behind the wall of one of the worlds most famous raceways.
There are also 2 simulators to ride as well as the Pepsi 500 movie to watch. After watching the movie you exit into the "Gatorade Victory Lane" where the race winning car from that years Daytona 500 is on show in the exact condition that it finished the race!
The newest addition to the Speedway is the Richard Petty Driving Experience where you can drive / be driven round the famous banked oval. Prices for these are separate from the admission charge to the speedway.
Admission is not to expensive to the speedway with adults around the $20 range and kids from $15+ and was well worth it, you could also get lucky and be there to take in a race weekend
