Daiquiri Deck
We had originally visited Daiquiri Deck some time ago when we visited Siesta Key and were impressed with it. On one of our day trips to Madeira Beach we decided to eat here before returning to our villa in Orlando.
I was fascinated by their entertainment schedule and drinks offers as they varied from day to day. Most of the drinks offers are from 9. 00pm to close and you only have to stay in this area for a few days to appreciate the majority of guests retire early after a “busy” day on the beach!
On Mondays they have poker, Tuesdays is trivia night, Wednesdays there is live music and Thursday is dance party. In preparation for the weekend Fridays has live entertainment starting at 4. 00pm and Saturdays live music from 10. 00pm. On Sundays as the weekend slows down from 3. 00pm to 7. 00pm there are $3 cheeseburgers as well as lots of offers on drinks. Live music is on from 4. 00pm to 8. 00pm.
We decided to start with some Buffalo Chicken Wings which were served with Blue Cheese and celery. There was a choice of Mild, Medium, Hot, Nuclear, Honey BBQ, Margarita, Blackened or Jerk. You can of course have them plain or as they say “naked”! You have the choice of ten, twenty or thirty wings. We decided on ten as we were really hungry and intended having appetizers as well.
My brother ordered Nash’s Louisiana Shrimp Gumbo this looked really good with lots of gulf shrimp and andouliee sausage. He enjoyed it; I tried some but was not so keen of on the andouliee sausage. I ordered Famous Sweet Potato Fries. These were sliced sweet potatoes fried and topped with parmesan cheese. They were fantastic I have tried to cook this dish myself since but have never quite got them as good as the Daiquiris.
For his entrée my brother opted for the Fresh Gulf Grouper Sandwich. This was a beautiful freshly caught grouper he had it blackened with cheddar cheese. All the sandwiches came with a choice crinkle cut french fries, sweet potato fries, coleslaw or mixed vegetables, he chose the coleslaw.
I ordered but did not anticipate how big it would be the Daiquiri Decker. It was grilled and contained ham, turkey, swiss and american cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato on wheat bread.
My brother had left room for a large dessert; he had a Build Your Own Sundae. This was two scoops of vanilla ice cream and the toppings were chocolate syrup, sprinkles, cherries, caramel, nuts and cream. I was just hoping he would now be able to stay awake to drive home!
If you do go to Madeira Beach Daiquiri Deck is worth a visit.
