Christmas Seaworld Part 2
We thoroughly enjoyed out night at Seaworld Christmas 2010 (see review) so we decided to head off up there for an afternoon. The day was sunny but the wind was harsh. We realized almost as soon as we entered the park that we couldn’t hear the coasters, you guessed, they were both closed by the wind along with the Skytower. Although a little disappointed it was OK as we had done them all before. To be honest you can’t see everything here in one day anyway.
We didn’t arrive at the park until 2. 30 pm so we went straight over to watch Blue Horizons. This is the first time we have seen this show and will definitely go again. It is a rare mixture of dolphins, a whale and many exotic birds, not to mention the acrobats and stunts. Very colourful and entertaining, especially when the birds actually fly over your head. The trainers still get in the water here which we find makes it very spectacular. At one point there are so many things happening you don’t know where to look, hence the repeat visit next time.
From there we wandered over to the Manatee Rescue area. You can get very close to the Manatee both above and below ground. We had a wonderful experience seeing these beautiful creatures.
Next stop was the Penguin Encounter. This is a walk through exhibit. Again you can see them above and below the water. Must admit they are beautiful to see but can make you laugh with their antics. Daily snow falls inside the exhibit keep the place a chilly 30 degrees but the penguins love it.
Time to go see Clyde and Seamore' s Countdown to Christmas show. Get here early as the mime artist before the show is hilarious. In addition to the antics of Clyde and Seamore, you are treated to the most adorable otters and even a performing walrus. We sang carols together and all in all it was a great show.
Having seen the Sea of Trees the other night we decided to stay and watch it again. The wind was realy cold by now so we went and got some hot chocolate and a muffin, just to warm us up mind. I took a video of the who spectacular show this time and watching it later that night brought the whole experience back.
Christmas at Seaworld is well worth the visit. If you go early December as we did you beat the crowds but see all Seaworld has to offer.
