Christmas Seaworld part 1
Had spent the day around the pool and decided to go to Seaworld for the evening Christmas celebrations.
The park was very quiet when we arrived around 6pm on the 10th December 2010
Went straight to Manta as we hadn’t ridden this coaster before. Have to say it was a strange feeling when you turned over onto your tummy. The coaster is great and gives you a totally different perspective of the park. As the park was so quiet we did not have to queue at all for anything.
We then wandered over to the Polar Express Experience. Outside, by the train, there was a four piece
acappella group singing Christmas songs, and very good they were too. This ride is a simulator ride and really nice for all the family. After the ride you walk through and see the beautiful Beluga Whales, polar bears and an enormous walrus. If you have children you can also talk to Santa in his grotto.
We walked through the market, a couple more groups were playing and children dancing, a very festive feel round here . We went over to the lake for the 8. 45 Sea of Trees spectacular. That was what it was, spectacular! ! The trees are actually in the lake and light up most of the time. The park goes very quiet and then the festive music starts up and the trees almost dance to the music. The show is fabulous with the trees changing colour many times.
We then went to the Shamu stadium for the Shamu Christmas Miracles show. Before the show we were entertained by a saxophonist who was very good. The whales as usual were great and the theme ‘Miracles’ was quite heartwarming. We were given sugar candy sticks free of charge to eat during the show.
Straight after this we went to the Bayside Stadium for the Winter Wonderland on Ice show. I have never seen this one before and it was lovely. The same a cappella group was singing Christmas songs again before it started. The rink is set at the side of the water, it was a bit chilly by this time 10. 30 on a December evening but we didn’t care, we had picked up a hot chocolate drink to keep us warm. The show was colourful with many changes of costumes and themes. Staying in our seats after the show we watched the Holiday Reflections firework, laser and water show. The sea of trees was over to our right and they took part in this event as well. All in all it was a lovely way to end our evening at Seaworld Orlando.
