Celebration Town (1)
You may well pass Celebration on the 192 on your way to Disney but when you get time either take a detour to drive around the town or even go for a browse around and maybe take in a film or a meal.
When you drive down the boulevard you will initially see the commercial buildings. As you progress into Celebration you will feel you have gone back in time and will love the old fashioned appeal of the houses. These homes have traditional southeastern exteriors with wonderful front porches and rocking chairs.
If you are in Orlando during the Christmas period a drive through Celebration is a must to see the impressively decorated houses. Last Christmas we not only saw a house with full size bronze toy soldiers at the entrance but also a large detached house completed wrapped like a package in a giant red bow!
Also at this time of year the Snowing Nightly in Celebration is a must. Take the children to Market Street where at least twice nightly there is a snowstorm, a real Christmassy feeling whatever the weather.
There is plenty of roadside parking in Celebration but please ensure that you do not overstay your limit and that you are parked correctly in your bay as the law is quite rigorously enforced.
In the middle of the town there is a beautiful lake that is surrounded with rocking chairs, I cannot tell you how relaxing it is to sit here rocking back and forth in the sun.
Market Street is so tranquil and features some charming shops, opening hours usually being 10.00am- 9.00pm and Noon – 6.00pm on Sundays although the Restaurants obviously open later.
I usually have a coffee at Barneys and then I love to browse in Day Dreams with its Collectible Dolls and Bears.
Bloom Street Trading Co. has quality gifts and home accessories, as well as books and magazines.
If you want gifts for children go to Lollipop Cottage, which is a childrens clothing and gift boutique.
Different types of gifts can be bought at Jerard International offers where you can get gifts from around the world for every member of your family and friends.
There are also several other shops in Market Street if you are looking for ladies clothes.
For those of you staying locally there is an AMC cinema in Celebration where you can see most of the latest films. We had a lovely evening here a few years ago when we went to see The Grinch and then went onto see the snow storm in Market Street.
There are several places to eat in Celebration. Whether you want classic American, Italian, Spanish-Cuban, Seafood or Prime Rib, you will find it here.
The Celebration Town Tavern serves seafood and steaks while at Columbia with its rich Spanish decor, you will find Spanish Cuban cuisine.
At Market Street cafe you will find homestyle meatloaf and traditional turkey dinners as well as huge deli sandwiches. They also do great desserts.
For those who prefer fine dining Cafe DAntonio have great Italian food whilst Japanese is served at Seitos Japanese Restaurant. Boston Garden is upscale dining featuring New England seafood, Black Angus beef, and Maine lobster specialties.
Whether you go for a drive, a browse or to eat enjoy your visit to Celebration.
