Busch Gardens

A fantastic action packed day out at one of Florida’s premiere theme parks.
Situated at Tampa, approximately 1 hours drive from Orlando, Busch Gardens should be treated as a long day out. We left our villa about 9am in the morning and entered the park around 10. 30am, arriving back at the villa around 10pm after stopping off at one of our favorite restaurants Manny’s Chop House for something to eat.
Busch Gardens covers an extremely large area. You have the Savannah where you may want to take a Safari and get up close to many of the Wild animals which roam the plains. Area’s where you will find an abundance of Rides from the very wet Stanley Falls and Kanganyiki Tidal Wave to the white knuckle rides like Sheikra and Kumba or you can just roam the pathways looking at the incredible animals on show and the fantastic scenery.
A great attraction is to get up close with the Animals, there is a designated area right next to the Savannah where feeding some of the animals under supervision from the park rangers is an experience in itself. We were fortunate as we managed to catch the Giraffes which was amazing as it’s our daughters favorite animal.
We just missed a bird show which looked awesome. Set in its own area with stage and props, the show looked really enjoyable with exotic birds performing various feats, tricks and flying around with in the confines of the small show area. This would be a fabulous event for the young ones among you.
Busch Gardens has some amazing shows which are well worth checking out.
Pirate’s 4D is a laugh a minute film where you go on a swashbuckling journey, but be where as you may leave the theatre a little wet. . You may fancy the Spectacular Ka Tonga – Tales from the Jungle, a colour celebration of African life.
Make sure you get yourself a Theme Park Guide when you enter the park as it’s full of information, places of interest, show times & generally tell you what’s what & where’s where.
One of the most recognized attractions at Busch Gardens has to be the world famous Rhino Rally, a 4 x 4 off road expedition through the wilds of Africa.
Many animals will be on view including Lions, Giraffes & the Rhino to name but a few as you wined your way around the safari route before your 4 x 4 hits the water rapids for the final leg of your journey.
Diners and food outlets a scattered all over the park but they do become very busy, we only ate in one which was the Crown Colony Restaurant which served Burgers, Pizza, Hot Beef Sandwiches etc, but the best thing of all is the Bar serving a fabulous chilled glass of Larger.
We would recommend Busch Gardens as an amazing place to visit but do make a day of it as the journey either side is approximately 1 hour.
We personally can’t wait to get back to Florida and head of to Tampa & Busch Gardens.
