Breakfast at The Market St Cafe
Breakfast at The Market St Cafe in Celebration is an absolute must for us on any trip to Orlando, in fact, if we don’t go at least two or three times each trip we feel badly done by! !
Apart from loving the whole ambience of Celebration itself we enjoy the relaxed, friendly atmosphere of the café , the food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced.
The café is modeled on a 50’s diner, plenty of formica and chrome with stools at the bar, a jukebox and a soda fountain serving a delicious selection of shakes, smoothies and ice cream floats.
Unless the weather is really bad, and let’s face it, in the sunshine state that is not very often, we usually opt to sit outside. At busy times there may be a wait for a table but we just take our pager and wander to the rockers at the edge of the lake whilst we wait to be called……. it’s not exactly a chore!
Starting with drinks, the coffee comes in huge mugs! ! If you are not a fan of coffee, or have children in your party indulge in one of their milkshakes, you won’t be disappointed.
The menu selection is huge, maybe you would choose to “create your own breakfast” from the list which includes, eggs, bacon, ham, tomatoes, grits, home fried potatoes, sausages………the list is endless!
The omelets selection is great and special mention has to go to their baked potato omelets with sour cream and chives, just like……. well just like a baked potato actually! If this doesn’t grab you then there are American omelets, Southwestern style omelets and ham and cheddar omelets to name just a few.
If you fancy something a bit more fancy then why not try their eggs benedict selections? The eggs benedict with smoked salmon always goes down well with at least one member of our party!
I couldn’t wrap up the menu selections without mentioning at least a few of my own personal choices. If you, like myself, have a sweet tooth, why not try Little Sarah’s French toast with brown sugar, whipped butter and strawberries? Be warned though, the portion is huge and the strawberries are more of a syrup than actual fresh strawberries. In the same vein the blueberry or peach pancakes are equally good and to save yourself being over faced you can choose a short stack, which is actually one dinner plate sized pancake.
Final mention has to go to the oatmeal with raisins Californian and brown sugar, not every ones choice I know, but teamed with an English muffin it makes a delicious and satisfying choice for me!
If you are a regular visitor to Orlando it is worth remembering their membership scheme. You will be issued with a card to present with payment and will gain points towards complimentary drinks and meal choices, a bit like the loyalty schemes many stores and supermarkets operate.
One final word of warning! At the weekends, especially, this place gets busy, so go early or be prepared to wait!
Most of all……. . enjoy!
