Breakfast at Denny's
Wherever you look in Florida you will most certainly spot a Denny’s, the most recognized name in family dining.
There are in fact 1,600 of these spread across America and they are extremely popular. With their tell tale red and yellow signs you will not miss them. They are open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week including Christmas day.
They offer a casual dining atmosphere and very moderately priced meals and everything from breakfast to dinner, although it is the breakfast, which we like to go and enjoy whilst we are in Florida.
Denney’s are extremely well known for their breakfasts, which are served around the clock, especially the ‘grand slam’ which is two buttermilk pancakes (to die for) two eggs, two bacon strips, and two sausage links plus hash browns or grits or choice of bread along with juice or coffee. I must admit to never liking pancakes here in the uk and only tried them on our very first visit to Denney’s when my husband ordered them and I have to say they are absolutely delicious and so Moorish, unlike any that you get over here. My husband ordered them with blueberry filling (ooommmm) not realizing that they came with side of eggs and bacon anyway. (Still I did help him devour his pancakes).
The breakfast menu is huge and it is difficult to choose from all of the offerings available from the full Monty to deliciously tempting pancakes with a variety of toppings such as blueberry,cinneman-apple or cherry to their selection of omelets.
The portions are large which you do come to expect in America but he food is really good and the service is excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and polite and the service swift.
The menu is vast and includes everything from steaks (done to your liking) to fish and chips, they offer a selection of fish dishes and chicken along with a variety of salads and sandwiches and if you can still manage one their dreamy deserts look delicious.
Specialty menus are available for the health conscious such as low fat and low carb choices .In addition to this they offer free refills on coffee and tea, soft drinks and lemonade.
Look out for their special offers too such as kid’s eat free on certain nights which is extremely popular with families. Bear in mind that Denney’s is very popular and can be extremely busy so you may have a short wait, but it is definatly worth it.
