Boma Breakfast Buffet
If you want a change from breakfast in your villa or from one of the chains selling all u can eat breakfasts I really would recommend you try Boma’s breakfast buffet at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
They serve all u can eat breakfast from 7. 30am until 11. 00am and the price for adults is $16. 99, Children age 3-9 $9. 99.
Boma is a lovely family restaurant serving breakfast and dinner. It is large and has the atmosphere of an African marketplace. Although it is an all you can eat experience unlike traditional buffet lines, where you start at one end and work your way along Boma has ' pods' . It was nice not to have to wait in endless lines with your food getting cold. Each pod has a selection of food and generally a chef is nearby to answer questions.
We arrived as it opened at 7. 30am (we had made a reservation) and there were only about 10 tables occupied the whole time we were there. We wanted to have breakfast early so that we could be at Animal Kingdom as it opened.
Breakfast has over 45 different items with your choice of Orange Juice or West African Frunch (a combination of lemonade, pineapple juice, guava juice, orange juice, and papaya juice) the girls love the latter. We had a very attentive waiter who made sure we were enjoying our meal.
The girls started with cereals and dried fruit. The cereals included granola, rice crispies, fruit loops, and raisin bran and the dried fruits were mango, papaya and coconut
The cooked food was hot, fresh and there was plenty of it. In the first pod there was a corn beef and egg hash and a sausage potato casserole with big fluffy biscuit on top; this really was to die for.
My Father went to the next pod and had bacon and sausage, with some corn beef and ham and the best scrambled eggs.
Mother and I enjoyed cheese omelettes made to order with potatoes with red and green pepper and paprika.
The girls devoured the vegetable and meat lovers’ breakfast pizza followed by cinnamon raisin French toast.
The adults in our party were nearly full but there was a great selection of pastries muffins, breads, almond bear claw, scones, and assortment of cream cheeses including sundried tomato bagels, not to be missed. My Father managed a bagel with cream cheese and Mother and I had the most delicious banana bread.
There was an amazing selection of fresh fruit but none of us could attempt any. This is a place I really recommend for breakfast.
