Bob Evans - Home Style Cooking
Of all the many places to eat in Orlando you can’t beat 'Bob Evans' for great food and good, friendly service in a restaurant for all the family. I know when I go into a Bob Evans Restaurant that there will be something that all my family will want to eat, an extensive menu filled with good quality American, home cooking style of food. They also have an amazing seasonal menu if you happen to be visiting during Halloween or at Christmas. We are a family of five and have three children ranging from 10 to 16. It can be quite tricky to please everyone. But I don’t get any complaints when I say we’re going to Bob Evans. The portions are large but they also have a 55 and over menu for smaller appetites.
Breakfasts are a big deal in our family and we like to get a hearty breakfast before a day in the parks. I like the way that there is lots of variety, not just the usual pancakes or bacon and eggs. The French toast is particularly good and the omelettes are lovely too and also the oatmeal with pecans and cranberries. There really is an amazing amount of choice and we find that they keep you going for most of the day, which is just the ticket.
One of my favourite meals is the Bob-B-Q pulled pork. Bob Evans have their own Wildfire sauce, it’s full of flavour and the pork just melts in your mouth. Another big hit for all the family are the burgers these are huge and you may need to take a few bites home. This reminds me about their carry out service. I would recommend this after a day out. We don’t always feel like sitting in a restaurant, especially when the kids just want to get back to the villa and jump in the pool but we also want something more than fast food. With the carry out menu you just go online, phone or call in to place your order, collect your food and have a proper meal at home without the hassle of cooking when you’re tired.
From our first visit to Bob Evans we have been very impressed with the service. As I’ve said before the menu is quite extensive and we weren’t too sure quite what everything meant so we asked a lot of questions and our server couldn’t have been more helpful. We felt that we really understood what we had ordered so it wasn’t a big surprise when we got our meals. Also our glasses were never empty.
One last thing, the banana bread is to die for. We usually pick some up when we pay our bill.
