Boardwalk - Part 2
Part of Boardwalk features a wedding arch where wedding ceremonies and pre-reception drinks are conducted before the main receptions which are held in one of the hotels. It is a beautifully romantic setting for a marriage ceremony. When not being used for weddings, in the evening they have tables laid up for dining.
There are several booths dotted around the boardwalk one of which serves margaritas frozen or normal. There is a caricature artist who will draw you or draw someone from a photo in caricature form. The very popular hair weaving booths are also in two locations on boardwalk. Here they will weave long hair with either ribbons or beads which ever is your choice. A funnel cake stand sells funnel cake, which if you have not had it is a greasy, sugary indulgence which is a batter mix, deep fried and served in a spiral. Yum, yum – I love it, but my waistline doesn’t!
On the opposite side of the lake from where the shops and bars are located is the hotel area. This can still be enjoyed by the general public, but sadly not the beautiful pool which is strictly for hotel guests only – although it looks so tempting.
However the public can sit and relax or sunbathe on the beach in a sun lounger or lie on the silver sands. There is model of a shipwreck on the beach side which the children can explore and climb all over or there are a series of luxury boats for hire. Depending on the size of the boat the prices range from $32 for 30 minutes all the way up to $455 for 4 hours.
Once you have almost completed the circle you will come to the rear entrance to Epcot which takes you into the World Showcase. Past this and over a bridge will bring you back to the ESPN bar, which almost completes the circle.
For evening entertainment a lot of street entertainers appear; magicians and jugglers mainly and there is a Dance Hall aptly named The Dance Hall. Also there is Jelly Rolls which is a dining, drinking entertainment experience. The entertainment features Duelling Pianos. If you have never seen this, it is great fun and is performed by two pianists singing comedy songs or changing the . lyrics to well known songs.
There is a wonderful atmosphere after dark, almost festive even if it is not Christmas, it feels like it. Do give Boardwalk a whirl, you will be love it.
