Bennigans Grill & Tavern is a great family restaurant, they can be found in Orlando and other parts of Florida having over 300 locations. There are two on International Drive and one on Hwy192 . Founded in 1976 the food is American with an Irish influence. There is a special atmosphere where visits for special occasions are catered for or just a normal family meal out. The restaurant has a comfortable seating area and a bar in the center where you can sample some of the best Guinness you could wish for while waiting to be seated or deciding which of the mouth watering items to eat.
The bar area also has several TV’s round it where many of the locals go to watch the baseball and basketball matches and the atmosphere if there is a live match is as thrilling as the UK world cup football matches with lots of cheering and happy banter.
They have now introduced the “ Guinness glaze “ which after a great deal of testing it is now available in most of their restaurants. A choice of steaks, ribs, shrimp and chicken glazed with Guinness . There are 9 different types of burgers,
There is a very wide and varied menu which includes fish, chicken and steaks, the award winning ribs are a specialty and are truly delicious in a lovely tangy bbq sauce, soups and salads, sandwiches , appetizers and party platters. If you are able to attempt a dessert you will not be disappointed, there is a brilliant choice of them but the one above all the rest has to be the “ Death by chocolate “ if you have ever had one in the UK or anywhere else for that matter it will not touch this one ! It was the best dessert I have ever had and will always be on the top of my list, it certainly is a killer.
The time we visited it was St. Patrick’s day, as the place has Irish connections you can imagine it was a great evening. The drinks were bright green! ( yes including the beer ) all the staff were dressed up in green , some had leprechaun outfits and looked brilliant. The atmosphere was excellent as well as the food.
A great place to try if you are looking for somewhere to eat good food and have a great evening.
