Bennigan’s Restuarant
Bennigans Grill & Taverns are located in and around Orlando and other parts of Florida having over 300 locations. They are brilliant family restaurants.
There are two on International Drive and one on Hwy192 so really convenient for most of the communities. They were founded in 1976 the food being American with a hint of Irish influence.
These family restaurants can be used for a normal meal out, but have a great atmosphere for that special occasion too. There is a seating area and a bar in the center, enabling you to relax and sample the Guinness or a cocktail while waiting to be seated or deciding which of the mouth watering items you are going to order.
Around the bar area there is several TV’s where many of the locals go to watch the baseball and basketball matches and the atmosphere if there is a live match is as thrilling as the UK world cup football matches with lots of cheering and happy banter.
If you have never tried anything like it the Guinness glaze which after a great deal of testing it is now available in most of their restaurants and is absolutely delicious.
There is a great choice of food on offer, steaks, ribs, shrimp and chicken glazed with Guinness and there are several different types of burgers with various flavors.
The menu is very varied with lots to chose from these include fish, chicken and steak but the award winning ribs are a specialty and are absolutely fabulous, they are served in a lovely spicy bbq sauce, there are also soups and salads, sandwiches , appetizers and party platters. If you are able to attempt a dessert you will not be disappointed, there is a superb choice of them but one of my absolute favorites has to be Death by chocolate it is enormous, with wonderful chocolate cake containing marshmallows, it has ice cream, cream and is topped with a hot chocolate sauce. Theses are available in the UK but none of the ones I have ever tried are as good as this one. . As the name suggests it certainly is a killer, there is no way you would eat one alone and even sharing it is a struggle!
One of the best times to visit has to be on St. Patrick’s Day, with all of the Irish connections as you can imagine it will be a great evening. The drinks are usually bright green! including the beer and all the staff dress up in green as leprechauns and they all wear big green hats it looks very good and adds to the . Feel of the evening.
This is well worth a visit and I know you won’t be disappointed.
