Beef O Bradys
Beef O Brady’s are a chain of Sports Bars that have been springing up throughout Florida. We use the one on the 192 located at:
The Shoppes of Vista del Largo
8687 West Irlo Bronson Hwy
West 192
407 239 7710.
To reach this you can go west on the 192 from I4 towards Orange Lake Country Club resort and Beef O Brady’s is located in these shops beside a Domino’s Pizza ( who deliver locally) and Churchills retail store where you can buy some English groceries. This is convenient for guests staying near Formosa gardens or heading for villas on the 27.
I believe an Irish Family opened the first O Brady’s sports bar in the mid 1980s and it has been very successful spreading out across the US. There is another one sited on the 27 south as you head to the I4.
There are 20 TVs and 2 big screens in the one we go to on the 192 and they can become very crowded on big game nights. They often show European soccer games although there are times when you have to pay an entrance fee. This is for their Pay per view games which are usually the big UK games like Cup games. My brother paid $20 to watch a Manchester United when we were over at Easter and said it was well worth, there was quite a crowd there already when I dropped him off at 10.00am!
There is also a small enclosed games room where there are video games. Our girls love this part and seem to win endless small balls, however it keeps them amused whilst we wait for our meal.
Happy Hour is Daily 2.00pm – 7.00pm and 10.00pm – close. When Beef’s wings are only 35c each. There is also a take out service.
There is a reasonable sized Bar and often couples or small parties sit here sometimes initially for just a drink but most end up ordering wings!
The kids menu includes fries or apple sauce, a drink and Oreo cookies. They too can have wings or the usual chicken fingers, chicken nuggets, macaroni cheese, hamburger or grilled cheese.
If you are really hungry you can order a starter from an inviting menu.
You really should try the wings with a sauce to suit all tastes – mild, medium, hot, extra hot or nuclear. I usually have medium, my Dad has extra hot but has not yet summoned up the courage to have nuclear. The wings are served with blue cheese and celery and you can have extra portions of these for 50c each.
There is a wide range of sandwiches two of the family’s favourites are Beefs Big Bleu, chicken breast grilled and covered with ham and melted cheese serve with blue cheese or honey mustard on a Kaiser roll, or Grouper Sandwich which you can have grilled, blackened or fried with lettuce and tomato on a Kaiser roll and served with tartar sauce.
My Mother usually chooses a basket meal, Fish, Shrimp or Chicken with fries and coleslaw. Whilst I often have one of their many burgers although the O’Brady Burger is my favourite.
There is also a good selection of Soups and Salads.
A good family restaurant, freshly cooked food served quickly, amusements for the kids and sport for Dad ( and Mum?).
