Bargain Shopping Trip
Comfortable shoes are a must. Dress as though you were doing a day in Disney! Most of the Malls have free parking and it is good to have the car nearby so you can make frequent trips back to your car boot (or trunk) to unload your bags and keep your arms free! Make sure you pack things in the boot though and do not leave shopping on show.
Although in general, prices in the stores are very good with most items matching the pound in dollars, for example, when the exchange rate is a favourable £1= $2 the goods are actually near enough half price. However with the recent drop in of the Pound to the Dollar rate, shoppers have to be a bit more resourceful to find a bargain, but there are still plenty to be had.
The Orlando area is the home of the shopper, from large malls with all the big names to smaller discount stores, Orlando has it all and here is one of my favourites.
The Osceola Square Mall is located 7. 5 miles east of I-4 on the highway 192 (in the opposite direction to the Disney parks)
The Mall is rather small, with plenty of parking and not at all flashy, but great for an off the beaten track bargain and not usually busy. The two largest stores are great for people trying to find a bargain, you could browse here for hours and save lots of money. Try “Bealls outlet”, which has items which are 70% off. This shop needs a bit of work to find the bargains, the clothes are not all grouped together and you must be prepared to hunt around the clothing racks, but the bargains are there if you look. The store also stocks shoes and other home items.
The other great store here is “Ross Dress For Less” This is one of the tidiest Ross shops I have been to, the other at the end of International Drive is nearly always messy, with clothes and toys strewn about on the floor. There are good brand names here, always with good discounts. The store stocks clothing, toys, home ware, bedding, small furniture items, luggage, bags and shoes. There are large changing rooms, with rarely a queue to try on items. The clothes are usually hung on racks in size order grouped together by type of clothing. Men’s, women’s and children’s sections are also divided, which makes looking through the items much easier. The store also offers a senior citizens discount on a Tuesday of 10% off all of your purchases.
The Mall also has a small food court, which is a great place for a coffee and a rest between stores.
