Bands Brew and BBQ Part 2
All the beers could be found in a separate Beer Garden which we decided to stroll around before we saw the rest of the event. The first stall we came to was the Estrella Beer stall. We decided to sample this whilst we read all about the Estrella history which tells how immigrants many years ago started brewing beer and this is still a family tradition today.
Amongst the other beer stalls were Magic Hat, Stella Artois and the Widmer Brothers. My Father particularly enjoyed the latter and was interested in its history which details how two brothers started brewing without much capital working longs hours to develop a successful business. Whilst my Father had his beer my Mother and I opted for a Stella Artois sampler and wandered over to inspect the deep sea diving bell that was on display. My Father really enjoyed his beer and was to have another sample when we returned to the Beer garden after the concert.
Now refreshed and feeling hungry we headed back to the crowds in the food area with its amazing selection of food. There was so much choice and we wandered around for some time trying to select what to eat. In the middle of all this we saw a stage being set up which was later to provide entertainment.
There were long queues for food as well great food smells coming from all the stalls which included St Louis Ribs, Pulled Pork ( several stalls offered this) Jumbo Wings Hot Dogs and Ribs.
We could select a main item some bread and a side like coleslaw as well as a soft drink. My Father like the rest of us had never tried Pulled Pork so he decided to opt for this although he later admitted it was a bit bland for his taste.
I had the brisket whilst my Mother chose the wings and we both found these very good indeed. It was hard to find seating to eat our food but we were lucky enough to come across some table and chairs in a seating area near a very strange car!
In this same areas there were quite a few stalls selling event merchandise like tee shirts and hats with the events logos on as well as another soft drinks stall.
As we went towards the concert area near the stage area there was a section where characters appeared and were soon happily dancing with the children.
