Bahama Breeze (Eating Inside)
The Bahama Breeze group of restaurants are many and spread across the area around the parks and judging from the couple that we’ve been to are of equal quality. There is one on International Drive and another at Buena Vista and these are the two that we have visited, the International Drive one is normally busier than the other one, but be prepared for a wait at either.
You can drive up to the restaurant and a valet will park your car and give you a ticket for when you need your car back and you can either wait outside after checking in, with a drink, or go inside and have a drink at the bar.
When you do get to your table, you had better be hungry, they bring you the biggest meals that I have ever seen put in front of me and one that you will surely not be able to finish if you are intent on having three courses.
The meals, as the name of the restaurant would suggest are Caribbean influenced, as are the cocktails, and in the first instance you are bewildered by the array of drinks on offer and then when you have surpassed that obstacle, by the equally bewildering array of meals.
There is an easy going air to the restaurants with Caribbean music playing softly in the background and you may have a cocktail or two while waiting for your meal to come, looking around you wonder how the waiting staff cope with such numbers in the efficient way that they do, and then your meal comes, well presented and looking delicious. You gradually munch your way through the three huge courses, which are an absolute delight, really enjoying every mouthful, but you must, at least on one of your visits, try the pina colada bread and butter pudding, however, be warned that at the end of two of the three courses, you will probably only want to share your pudding with someone, you will almost definitely not have room to finish a sweet by your self.
The pina colada bread and butter pudding is a delicious bread and butter pudding that is coconut flavoured but it is, as is everything in these restaurants, huge, but in my opinion, is worth going into Bahama Breeze and waiting in the queue, just for this, I cant wait to get there in August to have some more. But as I have said previously, perhaps best to share with someone.
Coffee followed by perhaps a Brandy and the perfect night is ended when the valet brings your car back to you while you wait.
