Arriving at Magic Kingdom
Part of the thrill of the Parks is the arrival and anticipation of a great day ahead. We always ensure everyone has the suitable sunscreen on before we leave our villa because ignoring the strength of the sun can make for an uncomfortable day. I also take a small tube of high factor sunscreen in my handbag these are easily obtainable from Walmart or Publix.
Once you have parked your car you go to the nearest tram stop do not worry if you have just missed a tram another one will soon come along. The excitement builds as you board the tram and speed along to the Monorail and Ferry entrance and arrive at the Tram Lots. In the last few years they have named the tram lots they are the Villains Lot with well-known villains like Cruella, Jafor, Zurg, Ursula, Hook and not forgetting Scar. The Heroes Lot are altogether a better lot of Peter Pan, Rapunzel, Aladdin, Woody, Mulan and Simba.
If you have not arrived by car and need a Taxi to get home you will find the Taxis well signposted in this area. We always buy our Park tickets in advance from orlandovillas. com but if you need to buy any you can do so here either by using their self-service kiosks ( at least one is usually open even in quite periods) or at the ticket windows. There are many ticket options and if you buy one for 6 days or more the additional days work out much less expensive. You can also add the option to “Hop” between parks on a single day or go to one of the Disney Water Parks.
If you look down at the floor you will see all the different floor tiles people have bought etched with their name and the dates. If you look up you will see the banner “Let the Memories Begin” and nearby there is a lovely topiary of Minnie Mouse waving to welcome you.
You now have the option of either getting to Magic Kingdom by using the Monorail or taking the Ferry. On days when we have plenty of time we tend to have a leisurely ride over on the Ferry and come back on the Monorail.
As you approach the Monorail you will find a kiosk on your right where you can buy Coffees, Cold drinks and Pastries with a board over the top clearly displaying their prices. Last time we went we enjoyed their Banana and Lemon iced drinks.
