Apart from the theme parks
Apart from the theme parks, why else would you go to Orlando. One of my favourite reasons is the wide and varied choice of restaurants offering everything from cheap burgers to high class fine dining and everything in between. It is possible to stay for two weeks and have every dinner in a different restaurant and never go to the same one twice. However I prefer to find my favourite one and go back many times to sample everything on their menu.
The choice of evening entertainment is another good reason. You could try Themed Dining, such as the Arabian Nights. You are seated around an arena where you will be served your dinner whilst watching knights jousting and horses showing off their skills dancing! You could also try a murder mystery dinner where you will be part of the action and will also be invited to try and solve the murder. In downtown Orlando you can go to O’Grady’s, a Western Saloon set in the era of the Wild West and the cowboys. Whilst enjoying a sumptuous dinner you will be able to watch the glamour of the dancers performing as they would have done way back in the frontier days.
Other evening (or daytime) entertainment are the many miniature golf courses for all the family plus cinemas, museums and night clubs, the best of which are at Universal Studios Boardwalk. Every age and taste is catered for. Of course you must not miss the evening entertainment at the parks. The fireworks and laser show at Epcot is amazing and not forgetting Tinker Bell’s flight from the top of Cinderella’s Castle heralds the start of the firework display at the Magic Kingdom. Disney’s Hollywood Studios have their nightly laser show called Fantasmic which features Mickey Mouse and all his friends.
Of course the shopping is not to be missed as there are so many bargains to be had with the prices being about half that in the UK for most things.
Some of the other things to do range from horse riding, golf, walking, cycling, ballooning and helicopter rides to water sports such as surfing, swimming, water skiing, fishing and air-boat rides. All of these attractions are virtually on your doorstep in Orlando, plus many more I have not even discovered yet myself. One I keep meaning to get around to is swimming with Dolphins I can not report on it though as I have not done it yet, but everyone who has say it is the most magical experience they have ever had.
So many things AND Mickey Mouse, what more could you wish from a holiday
