Florida Guide > Dining
The choice of where to eat when you are on your first visit to orlando Florida can be overwhelming a little, a quick drive down the HWY192 or International drive and you will be hit by literally 1, 000' s of neon lights from all the places you can eat, the choice is amazing and with some brand names having more that one venue you can soon become confused.
So you decide that tonight we will eat at an American eatery a grill or steak house but which one? Here are some of my favourites and my personal views on them all.
A smaller grill that is often missed is Brannigans. This is not as big as the TGI or Chillis chain but is more like a family run grill and the choice of food is typically America offering burgers chicken and steaks. On the number of times we have visited we have found the service to be excellent and very friendly.
TGI is a favourite of mine because I have always found their food to be excellent. I particularly like their Jack Daniels range of food with my particular favourite being the steak and shrimp mmmm yummy. TGI always offers good service and good quality food but can be a bit noisy if you sit anywhere close to the bar! It is a relaxed and lively atmosphere.
Drinks are good prices too if you manage to time your meal to coincide with the Happy hour, the blue moon is a lovely drink although not to everyone taste, and yes it does come with a slice of orange in it !
Outback is actually an Australian themed steak house but in truth is very similar to the American grills serving much the same type of food, I have to say that I have eaten many steaks in Florida including at K J Kools and I have to say the best steak ever was at Outback, I have been a number of times and the steak is always excellent and is always cooked correctly.
The Outback special or the Melbourne is both to be recommended very flavoursome and tastes very fresh.
Ruby Tuesday is a smaller chain of eateries but the food is really good, again very clean and offers great service, good steaks but the best thing of all is their free fresh salad bar. There is so much choice and it' s all so fresh and tasty, Ruby Tuesdays can be a little harder to find but they are definitely worth seeking out just for the salad bar
