All you can eat Breakfasts
In all our years visiting Florida, and staying in Villas, we had not to date managed to get up early enough to sample an all-you-can-eat breakfast to set us up for spending the day at the theme parks. We were determined to do so this trip.
We checked out the nearest ones to our community, Four Corners, on highway 27, and found that both the Golden Corral and Sizzlers were a short drive away on the 192.
Golden Corral This was to prove to be our favourite place for breakfast – for just over $25 for two adults and two kids, we had our pick of food, plus unlimited fruit juice and tea or coffee. We collected our plate, knives and forks at the counter on the way in, selected a table and a really helpful waitress explained the set up, which was basically choose whatever we wanted to eat, as many times as we wanted, and our tea or coffee would be topped up as and when. Clean plates were also left on the table for us to use.
The choice was amazing –, bagels and rolls, bread to toast, with butter and jams; cakes (about six different choices, including chocolate and carrot cake) and danish pastries were in one section. Another section had a lady making omelettes to order, you pick the ingredients and she made the individual omelette for you. Plus fresh fruit – grapefruit, oranges, melon, watermelon, pears and peaches in juice, bananas etc.
Another section had two different types of pancakes, plain and chocolate chip, with maple syrup, cream, fruit etc as toppings.
Then there was the cooked breakfast – eggs, fried, scrambled, streaky bacon, gammon ham, spicy sausage, fries, mushrooms, grits, sausage patties, hash browns, tomatoes – the choice was endless and everything was freshly prepared and replenished regularly.
There was unlimited fresh orange juice, grapefruit and guava juice.
There was also a section with ice cream – vanilla, chocolate or mixed, with cones and lots of different toppings, and jelly. Our kids loved to finish their breakfast with an ice cream cone.
Sizzlers Sizzlers was very similar to Golden Corral food-wise, but drinks were not included in the price (around $22) except for a complimentary orange juice each. There was a good choice of food, including cereals (not omelettes) but we had assumed there would be drinks included, so it was a little disappointing for the kids not to be able to help themselves to fruit juice as they did in Golden Corral.
Both places offered freshly cooked, tasty food with a huge choice and it was a great way to start the day, especially when planning a day out in the theme parks as it was a long time until the boys started feeling hungry again.
We went back twice more to Golden Corral as it was a firm favourite with the boys and would definitely recommend it for breakfasts.
