A late night snack from Publix Supermarket
The uneventful flight from the UK into Orlando International airport is finally over. I am now on my merry way proceeding south along the SR417 also known as Central Florida Greenway this is my favorite route, easy to navigate and within half an hour of comfortable driving I arrive at my destination.
My thoughts while driving turns to food, I decide I should stop of for a quick grocery shop on route. My favorite Florida supermarket is Publix where I feel right at home knowing exactly where everything I crave is located. The Shoppes at Reunion and The Champions Gate Plaza have a Publix supermarket; they are within minutes of our villa. I decide to pick up my groceries from the Shoppes at Reunion store. I park the car and a feeling of tiredness comes over me, but my tiredness soon turns to excitement upon entering this store the smell of fresh bread and the aroma of the freshly cooked chickens welcomes me inside.
My trolley steers me towards the tantalizing fresh bakery counter, the choice of breads and rolls is vast, and I quickly place the Italian sliced bread into my empty trolley along with a bag of the Chicago crispy rolls. The fridges displaying fresh cream cakes and cheesecake leaves me no choice but to swiftly place a marble cheesecake in the trolley next to the bread. I was never one for cheesecake but after sampling the marble one at a friend’s home I quickly realized what I had been missing and got addicted to marble cheesecake from Publix.
My trolley was now positioned at the freshly cooked chicken counter, there were chicken tenders, legs, wings, various seasoned rotiseerie chickens I settle for a lemon peppered one. In the coolers opposite the chicken counter there is an enormous variety of prepacked deli produce, I picked up one of the southern potato salads and a crunchy coleslaw one. Next on my mental list was to choose a nice fruit bowl from the various mixed ones on display, I choose a mixed fruit one, the bowl of mixed melon also looked good so will come back tomorrow for my main shop and pick one up then.
I continued along the isle and picked up some butter and some eggs eventually finishing with a tub of coffee flavored ice cream.
No queue at the check out, no traffic on the road so within 15 minutes of leaving Publix I was sat at the dinning table enjoying my late night snack. Delicious! !
I knew not to get milk or orange juice as this along with other goodies are complimentary and are always delivered to our villa by our Management Company prior to guest or owner arrivals.
