A day at EPCOT
Having only been to EPCOT around 5 Years ago, I was really looking forward to our family trip in 2009. EPCOT is one of 4 Disney Theme Parks and is regarded by many as the best. The Theme Park is sub divided into 2 main areas ‘Future World’ and ‘World Showcase’ and is over 300 acres in size. The park revolves around a large lake which is used in the evening for the spectacular firework display.
One of the main attractions of EPCOT is the vast variety of food outlets. Each one of these outlets are located around the main lake and range from Mexican, American, British, Indian, Chinese, French and many more. Each area within the park is from a Country in the World and within that area are many activities that are associated with that area. There are 11 food pavilions in total. For those that want to dine with the characters this can be done as well. All food is authentic and is prepared to the highest standards. As most people stay late to eat it is always best to book a seat at one of the many restaurants. This can be done throught the day if required.
Some of the rides at EPCOT include Mission space (a simulator ride to Mars), Test Track (a car racing round a test track, where you are the dummies on test), Soarin (a simulator ride where you fly over San Fransisco and Los Angeles). Nemo and friends, a gentle ride meeting all your friends from the film Finding Nemo. These are only a few of many great rides. For those that like shows there are many of these at EPCOT, these include Fireworks, drummers, character meetings, comedians, dancers, jugglers, acrobats. To ensure you don’t miss any of these shows you need to keep an eye out for the many boards around the park which shows the times for each.
For those with young Children or toddlers EPCOT really is one of the best Disney Parks. Some of the ‘hands on’ activities in the exhibits called Innovations area is designed with Children in mind. They will really love this area, our little one did.
Overall I would really rate EPCOT and it is definitely a certain must when visiting Florida. It is worth going later in the day to take in the spectacular fireworks show late in the evening, this alone is worth the entrance fee.
