Florida Guide > Hints and Tips
*Where to go, what to do and where to eat'
Central Florida is a delightful place to vacation as most of the World knows.
Much can be read from many different forums and sources about places to go, things to see and where to eat out to name but a few.
My short article is a personal view after many years of home ownership, experience of places visited and my recommendation on a sound knowledge of most.
For the shopaholic not only are there the many Shopping Malls but the outlets too, not to be missed are the Lake Buena Vista & Premiere outlets on Vinelands and International Drive . Florida Mall on Orange Blossom Trail and Millenium Mall off I4 near Kirkman Drive.
Good, recommended Restaurants are usually high on the list of priorities for most families.
After over 30 trips to Orlando and the area especially around Disney, I can only suggest some of My favourites.
Try Thai food at the Thai Thani at Celebration and International drive, this food is the closest I have ever tasted to authentic Thai food outside of Thailand, which I have had the pleasure to visit several times.
Chinese food is available everywhere but for that special Chinese meal , try Ming Court on International drive again although I am not a food critic I do have experience of Chinese food in China itself and I much preferred Ming Court. (pick up the discount voucher books they have 10% + off coupons at many restaurants and attractions)
If Italian food is your special place a must is Carabbas at several locations, Highway 192, Formosa, Tampa and near Premiere outlets off I4.
The Olive Garden is great value for money, lunch menu great deals for families , locations all over central Florida.
I have given you just a minute selection of great places to eat, the, all you can eat buffets are also well worth a try, the kids especially love them.
Things to do:- for the Plane enthusiast Fantasy of Flight is a must, having been several times a great place to spend a day to see the Sunderland Flying Boat, a Spitfire, V1 Rocket and lots more you can even buy a short flight in a vintage Aircraft.
The Hot Air balloon experience can be arranged through Fantasy of Flight, see Disney and the surrounding scenery from up high.
Always a favourite with the kids is a Helicopter ride, several flight pads along highway 192 at only $15-20 again flying over Disney , Sea World and Universal Studios, dependant on your departure destination.
For those visiting during the Summer months a visit to Crystal River on West coast or Blue springs on East coast to see the Manatees, Blue springs is especially fun as Children can get into the waters and be near the Manatees.
Try the Air Boat rides of Boggy Creek the miniature Everglades area they are fab fun.
This is of course other than the Disney Parks, Universal Studios, Sea World, Busch Gardens, and now Legoland.
I do hope this will help to excite you of what Central Florida and the Disney area has to offer.
