Florida, What Time of Year to Visit

Orlando Florida Weather

What can you expect from the weather if you book to visit Orlando in Florida one year, will it be to warm, to cold, humid, raining, thunderstorms or hurricanes.

Well, let’s dispel the last one first, although a few years ago there were several hurricanes passed through Orlando, this is very rare, when hurricanes form at sea, they feed off the warm moist air rising and this makes them gather strength, as soon as they hit landfall, the source of their strength, that is the warm moist air rising disappears, and so, they lose strength and fail, so, what type of weather to expect at what time of year.

December can be a little cold and although we have been in Orlando at this time of year and have been able to wear short sleeved shirts and shorts in the day, at night, you could need something warmer, it is still very pleasant though, January and February is about the same, however, if you are renting a villa and like the pool I would advise having pool heat and put the pool blanket on at night. Orlando is very pretty at this time of year with most of the villas heavily decorated with Christmas decorations, especially at night when all of the lights are lit up and twinkling.

March, April and May are very pleasant indeed, probably one of the two best times in the year to visit, very warm but not humid makes visiting the parks a special way to spend your days, it also makes your time in the villas pool fantastic.

June is slightly warmer and starting to get a little humid but still very pleasant for visits to the parks, sitting out and enjoying meals outside at your villa and of course for enjoying the pool.

July and August get very hot and very humid, this makes visiting the parks a very sweaty occasion, it also means that in the afternoon you get thunderstorms every day, sometimes the storms go on for a couple of hours and then an hour later all is very dry and you would never have guessed there has been a storm, at other times it may be in for the rest of the day, however, in these hot, steamy, thunder stormy months Florida has lots of shopping malls that are all air conditioned and well worth a visit. Florida experiences some very severe thunder storms and it is not unusual for your electricity supply to go off due to part of the supply network being hit by lightning.

September and October is also a very pleasant time of year to visit being roughly the same sort of temperatures as March, April and May.

November is still good but starting to get a little on the colder side and that brings us back to December.

Suffice to say that there is something to do in Florida regardless of the time of year you go and weather conditions that are happening whilst you are there.
